About Us & Why I Started a Blog

Hi there, welcome to my blog! Most of you reading are likely family members and friends, and already know most everything about me. If you are new here, and want to get to know me, please keep reading...

My name is Ashley and I am 28 years old. I was born and raised in the state of Maine, but now reside in Seal Beach, CA with my fiancé Michael. (The full story on that will be in it's own future post.) I work part-time as a dental hygienist, and my fiancé works as a full-time dentist. And no, we do not work together. We have a 9 month old daughter, Ella Marie, who is the inspiration for this blog and the absolute light of my life.

I decided to create this blog for a few reasons. One, because I read at least 10+ Mom blogs every morning, and have always wanted one of my own. I always let the idea of people mocking me or judging me for it hold me back. I decided to stop caring what people think, and follow my 'dream.' Here we are. A second reason is because I was constantly bombarding my social media with pictures and videos of Ella, and realize most of my friends probably aren't into that... (Although I can't imagine why not!) The third and most important reason, is because my family lives SO far away, as I am the only one who moved to So Cal. This blog can become a place for my family to stay in touch with what's going on in our lives.

My fiancé Michael is more of a private person, and not into plastering himself all over social media/the internet. He supports my blog and doesn't mind me sharing, but he wont be a huge part of it. You will see the occasional picture of him, but a majority of the blog space will be about Ella and I.

I did an introduction post here if you'd like to read it! It shares a few more details about how I met Michael and our life journey together this far.

Prepare for lots of posts and pictures of the beach, parks, food, friends, and the occasional 'mom hack.' We appreciate you for reading this far, and hope you come back to read again soon.
